Arnica, from the Sunflower Family

Arnica, from the Sunflower Family

Ciao bella,

Arnica, from the Sunflower Family
Here we are still in COVID-19 craziness! Should we go out? Should we stay home? The heck with it all! I've been going out when I can. Mostly outdoor dining and wide open spaces. At least we must all look rested ... unless you’re under great stress for one reason or another.

So let's discuss "Arnica," an herb from the Sunflower family.

Dating back to the 1500s, Arnica was used medicinally for healing bruises and injuries. It grows in Siberia, North America, and parts of Europe. Also known as wolfsbane, leopard's bane, and mountain tobacco, used for centuries to treat inflammation and pain.

It is said that a tea made from Arnica can relieve back pain. Arnica saved German writer Goethe's life by easing a very high fever.

In the Spa Room, Arnica is a hero ... because of its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. Used to calm swelling and bruising after a procedure is done. Also used for stretch marks, rashes, and scars, also to fade dark circles.

Used as a homeopathic remedy, Arnica is found in topical gels, oils, and creams, as well as oral supplements.

So get your spa mode on and dig into some Arnica!

Buona Giornata and God Bless the USA!
